A Cheese Log Blog

I found two recipes online for using goat cheese logs. Ummm….yummy! These are great for when the girls are over and you’re drinking wine while watching reality television OR for when you are throwing a party and there’s a ton of people to feed but you don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking to much.

Sweet & Salty Honey Cheese Spread

  • 1 goat cheese log
  • 1/2 cup roasted, unsalted sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup honey

Directions – drizzle honey over the savory cheese log and sprinkle with sunflower seeds. Then serve with veggies or pita chips. Um, yea, it’s that easy.

Savory Goat Cheese & Herb Bites

  • 1 tbsp thyme, parsley, & tarragon (each)
  • 1 goat cheese log
  • 2 tbsp EVOO
  • 1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup basil
  • loaf of warm Italian bread

Directions – Chop the herbs into tiny pieces. Roll the cheese log through the herbs. Spread on to toasted bread slices, and top with basil and sun dried tomatoes. You can make the spread the day before, and add it to the bread the day of. These make great finger foods, and saves your guests from making a mess of trying to spread the cheese themselves.

I love garlic and herb goat cheese – it’s my favorite. And these two recipes are so easy, I’d trust my boyfriend to make them. Not that I probably will, I’m just saying I COULD.
